Turning nature into currency is a plan to resurrect the imperial heyday.
Under the pretext of climate change, financial systems are being created that could allow territories to be colonised by carbon capture rather than military occupation.
Former Bank of England (BoE) senior advisor Michael Sheren, a G20 co-chairman, told COP27 two years ago that carbon was “moving very quickly into a system where it’s going to be close to a currency.” [1]
"The southern part of the world has a value far greater than large elements of the northern part. We start thinking about putting prices on water, on trees, on biodiversity. Where does that sit? I do a lot of work in Asia and I say that my neighbour Indonesia is the left lung of the world, and Brazil is the right. And Africa is absolutely critical, and we need their natural capital. more than we need that 66 million pounds sitting in England.
"How do we start tokenising, how do we create systems that transfer that value around the world?"
Under the carbon strategy Western corporations and oligarchs can offset their own pollution by buying "credits" from countries that possess nature reserves.
These can be financialised and traded. It is not hard to imagine that at some point the money power would foreclose on these assets — coming to own said nature.
Africa is fertile space for nature to be financialised and, more crucially, mineral resources under the ground.
The recent review of Britain's military singled out the Sahel. A target requiring intervention or at least responsibility to protect (known in the intervention business as R2P), it’s as likely to concern what’s below ground as above.
The Sahel has a burgeoning oil and gas industry, and perhaps not surprisingly, it is a budding centre of jihadist activity - think ISIS, the Western tool in South West Asia (Mid East).
The former Chief of Staff of the French armies, General François Lecointre, has said he expects a military recolonization of Africa by France and Europe in the next 10 years.

At the same time NATO is expanding from a north Atlantic treaty organisation into a global military force.
Colombia is the first country in Latin America to join NATO as a partner, discussing shared security challenges and responses. Bogota proposed a debt swap to protect the Amazon, and the talk is now of Brazil joining NATO on the same pretext.
Globalists are prepping Brazil and Argentina for a common union that will mimic the European Union, but also overlap with NAFTA as it has already done with the 2021 U.S.-Mexico-Canada union under the pretext of fighting Climate Change.
South America has more nature worthy of financialising than practically anywhere. Turned into carbon credits, poorer countries can use their abundant nature as collateral. Richer countries buy the credits to offset their pollution.
Weapons of change
Will the European Commission seek to expand the Union to Latin America, following on NATO's coat tails? It has increasingly identified with NATO, setting up rapid response units under which all leaders talk from the same script.
In Jan 2023, EC president von der Leyen reported to NATO headquarters to sign the third Joint Declaration on cooperation. The European Commission and NATO increasingly resemble a mythical creature that makes love to itself.
In Eurasia, the European Union wants to expand to what it calls the Western Balkans, reaching as far as the Caucasus country of Georgia.
Such countries may lack the rule of law and suffer from corruption but they have wilderness — not only the economic variety stalked by oligarchic giants but "some of Europe’s richest areas with regards to natural habitats, biological diversity, karst phenomena and lakes and rivers."
See Eurasia note #90 – Manoeuvres In Georgia; The Opposition’s Plan - The hand of EU and U.S. behind NGO protests (May 03, 2024)
Thus NATO's expansion, and potentially that of the EC, can be understood in the context of the Net Zero, carbon credits agenda, which we shan't delve into here save to say that carbon capture technology is running into problems, and the forests of South America could save it. [2]
Carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology is unproven at scale. Yet it is vital that oil and gas corporations have some form of viable offset if Western central banks continue to pursue Net Zero.
Green energy and degrowth
This week president Xi Jinping of China visited France, where president Emmanuel Macron was dogged at every step by EC president Ursula von der Leyen – she just wouldn't get out of the camera shot.
VDL complained that China makes too much... and that it should stop. Meanwhile Germany, of which she was formerly defence minister, has closed its nuclear plants on the order of the Green coalition, which misrepresented the capacity available from breeze and dappled sunshine.
One of the country's industrial giants, BASF, is shifting production to China due to the lack of energy.
Germany's Green Party pursued the closure of the remaining nuclear plants, when it knew it would be losing Russian gas due to sanctions and the Ukraine war. The “witholding” of this information “manipulated” economy minister Robert Habeck, according to German political news magazine Cicero - although we at Moneycircus were hardly the only people shouting from the rooftops. Germany’s nuclear industry pointed out the illogic; Poland volunteered to lease the plants to keep them running; even Greta Thunberg apparently asked Germany to think carefully.
The key document is a March 3rd 2022 paper from a specialist department inside Habeck’s department of the Federal Ministry of Economics which said it had enough gas-powered plants to keep the country supplied with energy, but not enough gas to keep them working all winter.
That was before the Nord Stream pipeline from Germany’s main gas supplier, Russia, was blown up.
Others doubt whether Habeck was truly in the dark. He insists he did nothing wrong and the economics ministry said the Cicero story was “shortened and without context."
CDU spokesman Thorsten Frei said: “The old suspicion is confirmed: parliament and the population were lied to when nuclear power was phased out”.
Lies, darned lies
Germany is the most important partner in the European Union. If you live in the EU, what happens in Berlin will be coming to you soon.
The single currency in particular turned the EU into a captured market, with artificially low interest rates, so everyone could buy German goods: Greece and Ireland became the biggest owners of Mercedes Benz cars per-capita.
It led to boom and bust after the 2008-09 financial crisis. Then the European Central Bank stepped in to bail out German, Austrian, French and British banks — pushing poorer countries into austerity, while labeling them the PIIGS — Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece and Spain.
We analysts reported on the looming reality of a two-speed Europe: a core of the Germany, the Netherlands, France and Northern Italy with non-member Switzerland, like the jam in a doughnut, plumb in the centre. Note that the World Economic Forum in Davos aligns with this tendency.
See Europe Reels From Germany’s Impending Decline (Sep 29, 2022)
Having witnessed the undermining of Europe's periphery, we are now seeing the detonation of its industrial core — along with the Nord Stream pipeline, Germany's energy security — resulting in German companies now relocating abroad.
Europe is gripped in what French commentators call suicide économique.
Head of the top asset manager BlackRock, Larry Fink, told the World Economic Forum that countries would benefit from depopulation: AI is coming and there is less need for people.
“I would argue that the countries that are going to be most successful are countries that have a shrinking population. And the social issues around the replacement of people with machines is going to be easier to address because they will more quickly develop robotics/AI, transform productivity and replace people with machines.”
Politician engineers
Change or reaction on such a scale demands the people are subdued in advance. We need not speculate on the ambitions of the oiler-bankers and their henchmen to crush humanity. We have their spokesmen like Yuval “Noah” Harari.
More propagandist than philosopher he speaks openly of scientists building the Ark for elites, leaving the rest to drown.
The European Union as a construct is replacing Europe as continent. One could go so far as to speak of virtual nations.
EC president von der Leyen has contributed to a book, "Remaking the World Towards An Age of Global Enlightenment" in which she demands a bigger role for artificial intelligence: to control online speech, restrict how individuals use AI (not governments), regulate hate speech, link rights and freedoms to digital ID etc.
If you still think it's about pollution and not changing you and your descendents’ existence, ask why the European Commission plans to spend 30 per cent of the EU budget to fight Climate Change? [3]
The replacement of populations cannot be separated from the end of the nation state — though it may be that we’ve got it the wrong way around. The fall of the borders, the sublimation of the state into shapeless amorphae is the effect not the cause, and results from the view of oiler-bankers that the people are superfluous, supernumerary and surplus to requirements.
Degrowth at home, accompanied by imperialism: feudalism being the domestic version of colonialism abroad.
State of Exception
Politicians are preparing. We have seen citizens’ rights diminished by law; property rights and entitlements cannot be legislated out of existence: they will be vapourised by “cascading crises.”
Under the powers like the PATRIOT Act of 2001, governments assumed the right to decide who is, or is not, a citizen. Another law that same year, the Authorization to Use Military Force (AUMF) was used by president Barack Obama to kill U.S. citizens by declaring them to be part of an enemy force, or a threat to U.S. interests.
As Gaspar Tamás wrote, “for Carl Schmitt, the legal theorist of fascism and political theologian of the Third Reich, those in power must judge who does and who does not belong to a given civic community. Citizenship became a function limited to his (or its) trenchant decree.” [4]
One crisis or “polycrisis” may be used to invoke a “State of Exception,” in order to suspend or change the definition of rights. This is another innovation of the Reich’s lawyer-theorist Schmitt. It has been critiqued by Giorgio Agamben.

Now the individual’s rights, once inviolable under God or the universe, become human rights under the Earth. Climate Change introduces the Earth as a legal concept.
Going from individual liberty to human rights is a fundamental change. It means the stakeholder — appropriating the community and the planet — takes precedence over the individual.

The nation state is about 400 years old, and it has proven best at protecting individual liberties. The powers that be see the state as an obstacle to cooperation – interplanetary or between their syndicates.
Rather than confront the state head on, the globalists are doing an end run around the legislature and liberties, beginning with property, from bodily integrity to your bank account.
In 2022, faced with truckers protesting against vaccine mandates, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergency Act — which contains four categories: espionage or sabotage; foreign-influenced activities; political, religious, or ideological violence; or subversion of the government.
Like a Latin caudillo, he used shock and awe to combat what was at root a parking offence.
The assault on rights of property, body and protest is not a temporary measure to restore order, or simply clear the roads. It is totally disproportionate to the task. It was a pretext for a bigger project, introduced in Canada as a kite in the hands of the globalists, to see if it would fly.
