There have been thousands of sightings of UAP, UFO, UVS or whatever is the latest gender-neutral initialism for what we once called flying saucers.
With their lights on - nobody's hiding them - they're bigger than they need to be for surveillance: the PteroDynamics Transwing X-P4 is seven feet by four feet.
Sweaty officials huddle in front of the TV cameras (called doughnutting in the trade), and speak of mystery and foreign adversaries, drawing comparisons with the "feckless response to the Chinese spy balloon."
Doughnutting is when a politician can’t convince the public without having a bevvy of believers - civil servants on the payroll - to buttress his or her words. Presented with such doughnut, you should believe less, not more.
CIA-funded "contractor" Palantir, run by Peter Thiel and Alex Karp, ran a commercial during the Army and Navy game on Dec 14 showing drones being released from a ship.
The public aghast is what you need to watch - for this is the purpose of any psychological operation.
Orson Welles choreographs fear in the Martian invasion of 1938, just before the people were roped into war.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Marketing aliens
Unidentified flying objects (UFO) became unidentified anomalous phenomenon (UAP); in keeping with gender-inclusive times — unmanned vehicle systems (UVS) lived a short life, becoming uncrewed vehicle systems. Endless rebranding feeds the mystery.
Many sightings were reported near government research centres - the very objects to which the military would wish to restrict access. Aliens became a staple of cultural programming through Hollywood - for good and bad: one theme is not to fear the "other" or to judge appearances.
But there is also social engineering and otherworldly projects - from the Jet Propulsion Lab that became NASA, to UNESCO and a one world religion, to transhumanism, transgender and genetic modification, to "tech bros" who challenge the notion that God gave humans dominion over the Earth - which they dismiss as speciesism.
Sergei Brin, co-founder of Google, told Elon Musk that he wants AI (artificial intelligence) to become “god” and dismissed Musk’s argument to his “former friend” that AI threatened human life. Brin accused Musk of “speciesism” — the human-held belief that all other animal species are inferior.

It is hardly surprising that the extra-planetary should align with the ancient study of the spheres and the unseen, what today we call the occult.
This featured in the CBS series Strange Angel (2018-19) about Jack Parsons, rocket scientist and follower of Aleister Crowley.
Nine Eleven
In the days before Internet, the number of conspiracies available was more limited and UFOs occupied centre stage.
A prominent freelance ufologist was Milton William "Bill" Cooper (1943-2001) who had served in the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Naval Intelligence. He claimed to have seen navy documents describing government interaction with extraterrestrials.
Cooper would later come to realise that the UFO trail does not lead to one single explanation. Finding wreckage stored in a military base would only broaden, not extinguish, debate.
Instead he came to focus on the psychological manipulation behind the extraterrestrial "threat" and its parallels with the terrorist phenomenon — beginning with aircraft hijackings in the 1960s, to the creation of the Afghan Mujahideen in the late 1970s.
It would be this former UFO obsessive whose insights would prefigure many destabilising events. His accuracy was uncanny, whether you agree with him or not that the government is responsible.
In his 1991 book Behold a Pale Horse he said the State would engineer school shootings in order to disarm Americans. The Columbine High School massacre in 1999 was the first significant school shooting in the US.
On June 28, 2001, he told listeners to his broadcast Hour of the Time that CNN had suddenly "found" Osama Bin Laden. Asking how TV journalists had interviewed the fabled terrorist whom the CIA claimed it could not find, he smelled a rat:
“I’m telling you to be prepared for a major attack!”
“Something terrible is going to happen in this country. And whatever is going to happen they’re going to blame on Osama bin Laden.
Don’t you even believe it.” [1]
Two and a half months later, on September 11th, 2001, the World Trade Center exploded killing 2,996 people, and launching the War on Terror.
See WW3 Or State Terror, You Decide - Do governments have citizens in their sights? (Feb 02, 2024)
Cooper's maxim was: “Listen to everyone, read everything, believe nothing until you, yourself, can prove it with your own research.”
He would die weeks later, in November 2001, when Arizona sheriffs surrounded his ranch. Do not focus on the details, consider the timing. [2]
This excursion into a history of conspiracy fact is not to distract but to illustrate that we are often misdirected to count the bullet casings on the Grassy Knoll. Countless books and pages are devoted to speculating on the number of shots fired at president John F Kennedy in 1963 and from which direction.
This misses the central point of cui bono, and who is in a position to carry out such a public execution of a U.S. president.
Forget the movement of the spheres; look at the elision of interests. The seemingly complex can sometimes be simple. A grand narrative has many strands, with the aim to distract.
Rockefeller aliens
UFOs were promoted by the grandchildren of Standard Oil founder John D Rockefeller.
While JD Rockefeller III and his brother David promoted the (de) Population Council and the rise of China, Nelson would go on to be vice president, and Winthrop would be governor of Arkansas and sponsor of Bill Clinton — Laurance would propose the UFO Disclosure Initiative to the Clinton White House.
Laurance Rockefeller would later fund the largest survey of crop circles in Britain, which burst onto the scene in the 1960s, and have remained a perennial of the press.
Rockefeller funded the work of Steven Greer, the most prominent American ufologist.
Depending where you stand on aliens and UFOs, Greer is a hero or he pushes the logical closed circle that the government must be hiding its interaction with alien visitors — for the principal reason that it has not disclosed them.
The most famous Rockerfeller involvement with space aliens was the "Martian invasion" of 1938, broadcast on the Rockefellers' radio network, and studied by their foundations and psychologists. [3]
This was Orson Welles' production of the Fabian HG Wells' War of the Worlds.
Drone invasion, anyone?
Big bad wolf
Who is afraid? Or do we need to create an audience of afraid people.
Perhaps the mouth agape - the classic image of the soy face, mouth open in a clown's freeze, the iris surrounded by the white, sanpuku stare, understood in traditional Japanese reading to signify physiological turmoil.
The World Economic Forum is on hand to tell us that alien life is perfectly normal - don’t make the face. [4]
If war escalates to space - with Russia saying it can identify and neutralise Starlink - we could see an attack on Internet infrastructure.
Recall that submarine Internet cables were recently severed in the Baltic Sea. Recall Klaus Schwab whose lower lip quivers with delight when he imagines the comprehensive blackout of a cyber polygon.
Civil unrest could be one result. Westerners might grumble about housing costs, and go without food - but they CANNOT SURVIVE WITHOUT WIFI.
Yet it would leave the populace more vulnerable than during the lockdowns of 2020.
Government officials would need a a rival narrative to save face (it wasn't the Russians; it was the aliens) and a display of force over their citizenry to show that they're still in control.
Project Bluebeam
"And remember Carol, the last card is the alien card. We're going to have to build space based weapons against aliens, and all of it is a lie."
Wernher Von Braun gave his famous warning to Carol Rosin who, from 1974 to 1977, was a corporate manager at Fairchild Industries, Inc., a major aerospace contractor.
He told her that weaponizing space would be the only card left to keep Earth in a state of perpetual war, and the money power in control.
Drones over Capitol
The mystery does not amount to much if you know that drones are the game-change in warfare and crowd control.
They played a key role in the Russia-Ukraine war and in Gaza where people have lived for more than a year under the constant buzzing that give drones their name.
Sometimes the role is surveillance. Othertimes the drones contain munitions that can eliminate a targeted human.
Narrative is essential to prevent most of the public from seeing this obvious information.
As with the "safe and effective" there is a paradox.
The more nefarious the objective, the more the peoole must be "narrated" into a condition where they will accept the "protection" offered.
The more in-your-face, or brazen, the ploy, the less complex the story line.
It is only when the machinations are complex, like systemic corruption, that a complex story is contrived to cover the tracks.
Drones and AI
We have seen in the destruction of Gaza how artificial intelligence is used to gather basic, quotidien information about people in their daily lives - routes to work, cafes visited, WiFi hotspots frequented, degrees of separation from a targeted person.
These human data points are gathered by the IDF's Lavender, while another AI system Gospel uses machine learning to identify buildings and equipment likely to occupied or used by targets.
See Crisis Update: Troubling Lessons Of Israel’s AI Kill Targets - Efficiency or unearthing darker impulses? (Apr 05, 2024)
Drones both gather the information and can deliver a kinetic round or other form of munition or bioweapon, like gas - laughing or othewise - onto the target.
It is inevitable, in its most benign form, that drones and AI will be used to control the population.
One problem, highlighted by former CIA analyst Larry Johnson is that AI only searches for what it's been told, and may focus on and amplify one perceived threat while ignoring a more active and pervasive threat.
Apply that to an incorrectly targeted individual. In the event of world war, all bets are off.
Papers, please
The military policeman demanding "Show me your papers," the air raid precautions (ARP) warden deciding who is saved, or in the event of a biowarfare attack, the herding of people into quarantine camps.
This can now be done with the assistance of drones and facial recognition to track and trace individuals.
Take the recent disasters - the fire that destroyed Lahaina, Hawaii, or hurricane Helene in North Carolina.
In Lahina officials immediately banned people from their homes - they could not even go to collect belongings: more than a year later they are still not readmitted without a permit.
The town was surrounded with tarpaulin, and the use of private drones to film one's own property was forbidden.
See the Hawaii series: Hawaii Land Grab Takes Shape - Targets holiday homes; omits hotels & mansions (May 05, 2024)
Officials declared the zone off limits. Now, apply that to any other territory or incident.
The United Nations policy of Managed Retreat proposes to ban humans from any area designated at risk of disaster from climate change.
Rewilding is banning farming, while the SMART cities programme would herd people into 15-minute cities and out of the countryside.
If drones are "keeping us safe" - why the element of mystery and fear?
Timing is everything
Next week the law regulating "unauthorised" use of drones is due to expire. It is part of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018 – which allows the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Justice (DoJ) to regulate use.
Rep. August Pfluger is sponsoring the Counter-UAS Authority Security, Safety, and Reauthorization Act of 2024 (H.R.8610) which would extend counter-UAS legal authorities through Oct. 1, 2028.
The bill presents unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) as a matter of public safety and law enforcement.
“The time has come for Congress to expand the authority of Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to better utilize monitoring, tracking, and single jamming technologies to protect critical areas, including our borders, large public events, prisons, and sensitive government facilities, while also ensuring the civil liberties of drone operators,” added Rep.Seth Magaziner.
Such regulations are consistent with the use of drones and AI for public control as discussed above.
Former CIA operations officer Laura Ballman told Fox News the recent mysterious drone sightings may be part of a “classified exercise.”
The current display of drones are part of a military drill by Space Force, according to a poster on Reddit claims that all radio and radar communications will be seized by the military for several hours at a time between now and Christmas eve.
"They are setting up some kind of a big show for the public very soon. CNN was even at our facility shooting pre-roll footage for a future story."

At the risk of sententious preaching.
The use of drones killing children in Gaza who come to help after an attack should terrify and infuriate any normal person regards the living hell Jewish supremacists are unleashing.
In my country, "Managed Retreat" and other dystopian terms are largely unremarkable as is a certain group carefully profiting from same.
We Are All Palestinians.
If I could only read one substack, it would be yours. Always look forward to reading yours.
Not to say this particular one makes me feel “good”. This is actually terrifying.
I’m sure you’ve seen the drone videos from Ukraine where an assassin drone is relentlessly chasing around an individual soldier, and finally assassinating him from close range, shooting him right in the face. “Worst nightmare” type of stuff. The future. Hoo boy.
