“Everywhere the wasteland grows; woe

Do we tolerate war, because the politicians running Washington and Brussels say it is time for us to fight (never them). Do we ignore calls to step back from the nuclear abyss because the call for peace comes from the "wrong" side.
Does logic depend on who is speaking?
Shockingly, many people no longer believe there are eternal verities, preferring to speak of “my truth” — too busy living at internet speed to reflect on life (There is hope: read to the end.)
This week we saw a man burning alive in a hospital bed, in a tent outside a hospital in Gaza. Western media mostly ignored it.
The Chinese representative to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty forum called to end the weapons. It got scant attention. The true call is to stop war, once and for all — at least those which military strategists call wars of choice.
Politicians hide the painful reality and toll of war. This year they removed the memorial to the fire bombing of Dresden in case people might draw parallels with Gaza.

In Germany, the high profile campaigner for honesty and disclosure about Covid marked his first year in prison. October 13 was the first anniversary of Reiner Fuellmich's pre-trial custody.
What did he do to deserve incarceration? Above all he exposed politicians and media who hide the toll and objectives of both war and Covid.
Yet there is resistance! This week Port Headland Council in Western Australia called for the immediate suspension of Moderna and Pfizer Covid shots. It heard evidence from international experts like professor Angus Dalgleish. Predictably WA premier Roger Cook told the council to "stick to its knitting" or local issues, and keep its nose out of things that national politicians would prefer to ignore. [1]
We'll take a look at: the need to stop war that lies behind China’s call for nuclear disarmament; Fuellmich’s work which bears fruit, even as he languishes in prison; and how artificial intelligence may render the “post-truth” relativist world a temporary aberation.
Crisis one, the state of nuclear treaties
People must abandon the Cold War mentality and continue to strive for a world free of nuclear weapons, says a Chinese arms control official.
No single nation can seek or achieve absolute security since that would come at the cost of the safety of the world as a whole.
This is the essence of the statement from Sun Xiaobo, director-general of the department of arms control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to the UN General Assembly Disarmament and International Security Committee.
Some may dismiss a comment from the Chinese as partisan in these war-mongering times but there was an age, not long ago, when nations took arms control seriously, even though fewer countries had nuclear weapons than today. This may include Iran, at this very moment locked in confrontation with Israel.
China is the current head of the P5 Process that brings together the five nuclear weapon states (NWS) — China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States — in a forum under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Beijing assumed the rotating role of P5 co-ordinator last month and repeated its longstanding call for complete nuclear disarmament. [2]
"A certain country sticks to a Cold War mentality, develops military capabilities in all domains and seeks absolute security at the cost of other countries' security, leading to the increasingly severe international security environment and the difficulty of the international security governance," said Sun.
Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) is the idea that if we point enough weapons at each other, no-one will dare launch them.
Also known as a game of nuclear chicken, this is familiar mostly to people in their 50s or older because the nuclear threat was omnipresent in their schooldays, in public service announcements and documentaries like The Day After (1983), and a truly disturbing film, written by Barry Hines and directed and produced by Mick Jackson, Threads (1984). [4]
Then, suddenly, governments stopped talking about it in the 1990s. That was about the time that the Berlin Wall came down.
Nukes were replaced, in schools, with climate as scourge of the moment.
The collapse of the USSR was supposed to deliver a peace dividend — the money spent on weapons would be used instead to end hunger and raise living standards around the world.
See how that worked out. It didn't quite happen, did it?
Military spending dipped in the late 1990s but the detonation of the World Trade Centre on September 11th, 2001, relaunched military spending on a trajectory that dwarfs the Second World War.
Don’t worry about that dip into 2013 because the next year came the Maidan coup in Ukraine and war with Russia. Military spending is now higher, in real terms, than it was in WW2.
Worse still, we still point nukes at each other but political leaders no longer behave like adults. We've got the danger without the security. The assurance of safety that MAD was supposed to deliver has vanished.
In December 2001, weeks after Nine Eleven, president George W Bush announced the U.S. would withdraw from the Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) Treaty.
In September 2021, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States announced a trilateral security pact known as AUKUS. A key aim is to help Australia acquire nuclear-powered submarines.
Where did MAD go? Perhaps it was never the cast iron guarantee of peace we were sold. If peace is simply the absence of war you might say MAD worked — but that is trying to prove a negative and you can't.
Did it contribute more than president John F Kennedy's negotiations? His solution to the Cuban missile crisis arguably did more to avoid war than thousands of nuclear warheads.
What did that require? JFK communicated directly with Soviet premier Khruschchev.
“A Strategy of Peace” was the commencement address by JFK to the American University in Washington, D.C., on June 10, 1963.
But, but… carbon?
A whole article could be written on the comparative threats of nuclear annihilation and environmental degradation. Fear has been dialled up recent decades to an emotional level that obstructs rational thought. After what we saw during the Covid response, there can be no doubt.
In February of 2023 I noted that "schools no longer teach students about nuclear war, neither through public service films nor documentaries."
See Eurasia note #70 - Mutually Assured Destruction And The Environmental Agenda - Threat of nuclear annihilation makes a timely reappearance (Feb 13, 2023)
I had no idea, when writing about the strange silence on nuclear weapons in Feb 2023, that the film Oppenheimer was in the making.
I still wonder about the motive. Films about weapons and war always carry a message. See Tom Secker's great site Spy Culture for the links betwen the military industrial complex and the film industry.
Oppenheimer was disturbing not for its depiction of the power of bombs that would be dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki — WW2 was notable for the bombing of civilians.
It was disturbing because it glossed over the reality of war and its motivations, reducing it to a scientific "race against time" in the manner of television (un)reality shows.
See Oppenheimer Film Pulls Focus On Nuclear Annihilation - Mutually Assured Destruction makes a belated come back (Jul 21, 2023)
In the moment a bomb falls you don't look up to ask if it is nuclear or not.
This week we have seen firebombs dropped on tents in Gaza. In one image a man, tethered to an IV drip, is seen waving his arm as he burns to death.
The details of the painful death of 19 year old software engineer Shaban al-Dalou were kept off most Western pages and screens. [3]
After the build up to war, and the launch of missiles, the plot of Threads (BBC, Nine Network, 1984) is about the collapse of society, the shortage of food, the savagery of people turning on each other, and the long tail of starvation and sickness..
China's call for the elimination of threats posed by nuclear weapons and nuclear war is supported by all sane people. The real message, surely, is about war, full stop. They still will occur, but we can put an end to wars of choice — the kind that Western leaders are waging now in Ukraine and West Asia/Mid East.
Crisis two: Free inquiry, imprisoned
It is a year ago this month that German-American lawyer Reiner Fuellmich of the Corona Investigative Committee (CIC) was imprisoned.
He is being held under false pretences... accused of embezzlement after he or members of his campaign failed to fully ring fence donations, which may have been a set up.
We know the real reason is that he successfully managed the largest expose of the Covid orchestrators. The findings were presented as a "grand jury" of testimonies, live streamed over a series of months. It did was not a court trial but a popular tribunal based on the Nuremberg Code and on evidence of malfeasance by officials and institutions.
He obtained a statement from a German manufacturer who was told in October 2020 by a regional health minister that vaccines would become mandatory and that there would be booster shots every six months.
Some of his contributors met untimely deaths such as Luc Montagnier, Nobel prize winner, who died days before he was due to give testimony to the CIC.
See Untimely Loss of Luc Montagnier - Discoverer of HIV dies as his warnings underpin the latest Covid shot concerns (Feb 11, 2022)
Fuellmich was not the first to be persecuted, and won't be the last. In April 2021 German police raided the office of a judge after he ruled against masks in schools.
"The judiciary is almost totally corrupt in Germany but the Anglophone countries have pretrial discovery and class actions. That is why we will launch international class actions. This is bigger than crimes against humanity; this is crime against creation itself.”
Four years have passed since the Covid measures began, and they remain in law, even if all of them are not currently active.
Fuellmich spotted from the beginning the outrageous behaviour of politicians, as if common sense had been sedated and they had sold out completely — and many politicians became rich, because the incentive to implement the Covid measures was oiled by money.
See Covid Rules: Cash Drives Compliance - Bankers bribe schools with billions to take dose that the military called 'too dangerous' (Jan 13, 2022)
"Many such politicians have come through the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leaders programme, including Macron, Ardern, Merkel and the German health minister Jens Spahn, and they quite obviously have no empathy whatsoever. We have spoken to a number of psychiatrists and we think there is some spark of humanity in them but it is comatose."
These politicians share some characteristics of the bizarre public behaviour that followed the election of President Donald Trump in 2016. However much you shared their view of the man, there was a psychological phenomenon that went beyond normal hostility.
See Bad and The Ugly - We've Got Their Number (Aug 23, 2021)
Fuellmich explained his motivations in August 2021 in an interview with Mike Adams.
The Corona Investigative Committee was one of the main vehicles by which professionals who were not on the Covid payroll tried to regain control of events. Another was Doctors For Covid Ethics, and many national groups like America's Frontline Doctors and Zimbabwe Covid Frontline Clinician Society, whose member Dr Jackie Stone died this month.

It was at the height of Covid mania, in October 2021, that Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg launched his Metaverse — a digital universe accessed through virtual reality. He even changed his company’s name to reflect his ambition.
See Mr Z's Virtual World, Or Prison - Online "safety" legislation will damn the metaverse (Oct 31, 2021)
Fuellmich added: "We can sing and dance. The other side cannot."
Crisis three: artificial saviour or intelligence
The forces of evil want to deny reality, and for that reason they will lose. No-one wants to be locked down or starved, not the people, not the planet, since it was created as an organic, living thing with a built-in logic we barely understand.
Even those who are living at internet speed might just be returning to the eternal verities. The poster who goes by the handle Joe Cat turned to AI to ask what will break the simulation.
ChatGPT said to learn the rules of occult knowledge, exploit glitches that reveal its artificial nature, creating a collective awareness too powerful for the would-be rulers to ignore, and to turn the simulation against itself.
Grok said to identify recurring patterns that defy physics or logic, and conduct experiments to force errors. [5]

“The Chinese representative to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty forum called to end the weapons. It got scant attention. The true call is to stop war, once and for all — at least those which military strategists call wars of choice.”
Yet the PRC conducts a “military exercise” surrounding the island of Taiwan.
The global struggle is between the vast majority of humans who wish to live their lives in peace, raise their children in peace and live productive lives versus the small minority of the global population who are psychopaths and through their unrestrained psychopathy achieve leadership positions in governments, industries, religious institutions, education, finance, healthcare, etc.
