The West's Hypocrisy On Ukraine
White refugees, white supremacists and whitewashed wars
One war is deathly real; the other staged or ‘enhanced.’ Guess which one you see?
Western audience are ‘hooked’ with the right kind of refugee.
Media ignores epicentre of fighting in Donbas, focuses on Kyiv and Mariupol.
5th Generation Warfare deploys social engineering, misinformation, cyberattacks.
NATO wants only one kind of refugee, one kind of victim, and ‘moderate’ extremists.
Nancy Pelosi’s chant of ‘Slava Ukraini’ sticks in Congressmens’ throats.

The is a make-believe element to the stories being retailed by state corporatist outlets like BBC and CNN. In recent days three of the top headlines out of Mariupol either did not happen, or not in the way they were told:
The maternity hospital bombing featured a mother who is an Instagram influencer. The building appears to have been decommissioned. Twitter allowed no Russian perspective and deleted posts pointing out discrepancies. Fact Check Org was left to finesse the story.
The mosque that was “bombed” as Turkish residents took refuge, is still standing.
Now a theatre said to be packed with children has been hit by an airstrike that Russia denies. Shocking if true but after 48 hours not a single photograph of a victim or survivor has emerged. Not even an ambulance. Just a theatre with a hole in it.
First we were told they were huddled inside; later that they were in underground shelters. The Guardian has raised its estimate of those inside to 1,300. The headline has surely had an impact but we wait for the reportage.
An assistant to Mariupol’s mayor told Human Rights Watch on Thursday he did not yet know if any, or how many, civilians had been injured or killed. HRW said it had two verbal reports that residents had sheltered in the theatre.
We sincerely hope a building full of children was not bombed. Is the evidence being withheld in order to flush out and discredit the doubters, not with a fake but a feint? Or is information fuzzy in the fog of war?
Whichever way this story is resolved, it seems clear that the media headlines about Mariupol theatre are, at time of writing, entirely speculative. To base headlines on a wild guess in dangerously inflammatory times is irresponsible at best — or deliberate misinformation.
[Edit: by 2100 GMT, three hours after this article was published, the theater story had disappeared from BBC and Guardian headlines.]
In this war propaganda shock value takes precedence over facts. This is the “supply” side, or push. But the way the public responds, the demand side, is also carefully manipulated.
Tragedy is real: death and displacement affects hundreds of thousands. In the Donbas, Armed Forces of Ukraine, mostly Azov Battalion, are trapped by Russian forces in two cauldrons, awaiting their fate. Yet there’s little coverage in the Western press.
The opinion formers have decided the audience will identify with the southern port city of Mariupol or the cosmopolitan denizens of Kyiv but not the countryside and certainly not Babusya who stayed behind to save the family home as her grandchildren fled Donetsk. Wrong kind of bombs, wrong kind of victims.
The Western press pays little attention to the soldier. If he wears the SS lightning stripe on his arm, does his mother not still mourn?
What this tells us is those who seized control of policy in the West want a certain type of war, and if the real war does not deliver the headlines, they will create virtual events that do.
The war occupies two theatres— one evil and banal, the other gruesome and staged. Don’t take my word for it: the military told us the next war would be fought in the cybersphere by military propagandists like the British Army’s 77th Brigade with the assistance of paid influencers and gushing Hollywood celebrities. Knowledge and previous experience not required.
The right supremacists
There is a certain type of white nationalist who’s acceptable. Military and intelligence are happy to work with authentic white supremacists, while exaggerating or inventing the same tendency in working class voters.
The dominant political cohort — call it neoliberal for want of a better word — sees the danger of nationalism and supramacism in a populist like president Donald Trump. In Canada, France and Britain this cohort insist their opponents — ordinary people of whose daily struggle they know nothing — harbour the most dangerous nationalist, even fascist, intent.
The January 6th insurrection at the Capitol, however real or contrived, involved individuals associated with Azov Battalion according to FBI documents.
When is an extremist not extreme — when he's our S.O.B. The CIA has been training Ukrainian paramilitaries on U.S. soil since 2015 — a decade after extreme nationalists had begun taking over Ukraine’s security and military apparatus.
The state corporatist media claims these fascist elements are a “fringe minority,” as prime minister Justin Trudeau said of Canada’s truckers. The media, which made such a fuss of the (probably staged) appearance of a single Confederate flag in Ottawa, ignores evidence that fascists began taking over Kiev’s security (SBU) and military (AFU) apparatus from 2005, tightening their grip in 2014. On Wednesday morning president Volodymyr Zelenskiy addressed the U.S. Congress, which speaker Nancy Pelosi tried to turn into a political rally, twice trying to get a chant going: “Slava Ukraini!” (Glory to Ukraine). She failed. Did some of those present appreciated the historical nuance, or did the stage management stick in their throats?
Just to prove we’re not hyperbolic: that’s the not the Iron Cross on Zelenskiy’s T-shirt but the logo of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
You might say we should support Ukrainians of any political stripe in these times; even those who sport the lightning stripe.
The West’s arming of Ukraine's military, including extremists, goes back decades, however. We won't debate their Nazi associations. Even state media documents it.
The West has cultivated Nazis from their inception and Ukraine's Nazi era descendants since WW2, in the case of the CIA, virtually without a break. The appeal of these descendants of Galicia's fascist brigades is worth exploring. Clearly it resonates among elements in the wealthy families and factions within the West's military. [This is explored after the paywall]
The right refugees
Hypocrisy and contradiction also extends to the civilian victims of war. In 2014 two wars began, 5,700 km apart, or 3,500 miles.
Most of the people pinning up blue and yellow bunting, have no idea there’s a war in Yemen. As many as a quarter of a million people have been killed, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
We have already seen reporters identify with victims “like us." They parlay our sympathy for civilians to sell the war. This is no accident.
Since Feb 27 when CBS’s Charlie D’Agata said, “This isn’t Iraq or Afghanistan. This is a relatively civilized, relatively European city”… the same appeal to race has continued. In the past 24 hours when GQ’s Julia Ioffe said:
“It’s one thing for sarin gas to be used on people in far away Syria who are Muslim and of a different culture. What is Europe going to do when it is on European soil, done to Europeans?”
Alan MacLeod of MintPress News has a running Twitter thread documenting these comments. If they were gauche mistakes, the word would go out in the newsroom to stop it. You are being sold a narrative — moderate racism — reminding you at every stage of the “blue eyes and blonde hair.”
This is why, some say, many North American politicians are so passionate about Ukraine, yet coldly indifferent to the human toll of other conflicts. Personal ties to business, taxpayer money distributed through private “philanthropic” foundations, and rerouted through local politicians and their banks. And don’t forget those U.S.-government funded Ukraine biolabs, working with pharma companies on an estimated 635 different trials according to Clinical Trials Gov.
The truth beheath this pile of lies is that we never cared for Ukraine. We watched it become Europe’s poorest country — which happened after the installation by coup in 2014 of the post-Maidan government.
Ukrainians have been fleeing the country for decades, while the country has become notorious for human trafficking, for sex, slavery and organs.
This corruption and depravity worsened — even while it grew a centre of operations for the USAID, the CIA, the Soros Open Society Foundation and numerous Western NGOs.
How did Ukraine become the poorest country in Europe? For the same reason Haiti remains the poorest country in the western hemisphere: it suits somebody’s purpose. Poverty disempowers people and lets activities that would not be tolerated by those with financial and thus bodily autonomy. It also fosters the growth of extremist movements — as if anyone would have a use for them.
Now a million new refugees is at risk of sex trafficking, gangs said to entrap the vulnerable by offering them places to stay. Most of the state corporatist media looks the other way.
Many of those abused by Jeffrey Epstein were sourced there, including Kristina Goncharova, a one-time Miss Teen Ukraine who says she was abused by his associates.
These tracked and traded victims are paving the way for the rest of us: we too are bound for algorithmic slavery, lashed physically to a digital ID, valued according to our social credit score, offered opportunities to the extent that someone else finds us useful.
Ukraine is part of a multi-strand effort to enslave the whole of humanity. Whatever your view on who provoked war, it suits a cohort’s objectives to have conflict on Russia’s borders. It distracts from the embolic and coronary calamity that is clogging the hopsitals, while the medical tyranny constricts the arteries of individual liberty.
Money for fighting and your clicks for free
One can find numerous accounts of how Ukraine became a charnel house, the boneyard of a peoples’ hopes for a new life after the Soviet Union ended in 1991. That cannot be laid at Russia’s door. Certainly not since the country became an operations centre for spooks and mafia.
