Your dreamstate reminded me so much of Franz Kafka's "The Trial." But there are plenty of other manifestations of that less than delightful depiction of a society gone too far to Hell. In fact one doesn't have to break into a sweat expending energy looking for such signposts, the sweats are for waking up in the middle of the night and coming to terms with such nightmares so closely resembling the madness of today's world when conscious and fully alert.
