War and rumours of war: Chinese exercises near Taiwan, the Azov Battalion unfurl their Waffen-SS banner in the British parliament, whose officials call for Ukraine to escalate war with Russia. Israel continues its attack on Gaza and the West Bank despite the World Court’s call for restraint.

A European Commissioner drops an assassination hint on the Georgian prime minister, warning of where polarisation can lead: “the latest tragic event in Slovakia.”

Let’s deal with three stories that have become connected by events: Ukraine, Slovakia and Georgia.

The man who tried to assassinate the Slovak prime minister Robert Fico was not acting alone, it seems. And he wasn’t pro-Russia as the media blared. In fact, his objectives align with NATO-EU.

Which makes it ominous that a European Commissioner should threaten the leader of the south Caucasus nation of Georgia with consequences — after he pointed out that the attack on Fico did not add up.

We’ll look at the true objectives of Georgia’s street revolution — and cui bono.

The common theme is Ukraine, and the war with Russia. Former State Department official Victoria Nuland and ex-British PM Boris Johnson have both called for bombing the Russian interior.

The Estonian PM called for breaking up Russia, and a former Russian oligarch revealed the international banking interests behind his attempt to seize Russian oil and gas.

Slovakia

The man arrested for trying to assassinate Slovak PM Robert Fico said his most important concern was for “military aid to be provided to Ukraine and [he] considers the current government to be Judas towards the European Union, and so he decided to act,” said judge Roman Puchovsky of Juraj Cintula.

This directly contradicts original news reports.

Claims in the Western media that the 71 year-old poet was driven by pro-Russian nationalism turn out to be misdirection – and give a clue from which direction the bullets came.

The shooter had a set of demands that align with those of the Brussels leadership of the EC, claiming the media suffered "persecution" and that the government was not acting against corruption.

The “lone wolf theory” had an equally short lifespan.

In Oct 2023 PM Fico had said Slovakia would not support more military aid to Ukraine.

In Dec 2023 he called the World Health Organisation’s pandemic treaty “nonsense invented by greedy pharma companies."

He attacked the Covid panic and response: “One study after another confirms the scandalous consequences of mass vaccination with untested experimental vaccines… The media wrote openly, and I quote: 'Everyone unvaccinated should squeal in pain like a pig'."

An individual can withstand one personal crisis, perhaps two but rarely three simultaneously. Likewise enemies. On May 15 2024 came the assassination attempt on Fico.

Georgia’s prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze reposted information from Slovakian investigators suggesting the “poet” did not act alone.

The Georgian PM said according to preliminary findings, Slovak PM Fico's assassination attempt showed “traces of the actions by intelligence services of one of the countries that is especially closely connected with the 'global party of war'.”

He noted that dealing with the global party of war creates “an extremely dangerous force that is ready to do anything to cause riots in Georgia."

Concerns about the Fico attack include:

  • His security detail did not precede him, but stayed behind

  • Some observe they lacked the regulation police boots

  • There may have been more than one shooter

  • No ambulance was on hand

  • While the shooter was in custody, his social media presence was wiped
