I deal with "Spectrum" cable, descended from Charter communications, also a Bill Gates related company (via the late Paul Allen). My DVR refuses, simply refuses to record Democracy Now! at 8am on a fixed channel, every weekday. There's no way to tell it to record a channel at a certain time. Cable bill ~$200 per month. DVR Fee ~$15 every month. Mind you this is a "tech" "roll up" company. By a pedigreed tech billionaire. Can't resolve.
I am horrified to hear of your harassment by banks! Consortium News was muscled in on by Paypal b/c they don't like their politics. At this rate, Elon Musk's cars might accident you if you're a on the other side of politics from him!
Remember the good old days of a local bank manager who had some decision making power, and could generally be reasoned with under threat of losing a customer.
