Eurasia note #49 - A Second Front In Ukraine
Press posits Poland and Romania as next flashpoints - someone is eager for war
Russian intelligence says Warsaw has designs on historical lands in west Ukraine.
Poland sends at least 240 Soviet-era T-72 tanks as U.S. pledges $33 billion.
Weapons pour into Ukraine; Canada sends Karl Gustav anti tank “grenade rifles.”
Romanian troops allegedly moving towards the Moldovan and Ukrainian borders.
President Putin says civilians can exit Mariupol bunker; troops must surrender.
Russia continues to cement control in the eastern Donbas region.
Russian gas stops flowing to Bulgaria and Poland after they refuse to pay in roubles.
Growing Western censorship fans fear of war planning, as military seizes narrative.
The “why” is Russia’s historic role as boogeyman to drive unified Western government.

Somebody wants more war. Pitting Europe’s biggest country against the world’s largest landmass is no longer enough.
The controlled media is preparing public opinion. When academic-aimed The Conversation publishes listicle-type articles: “4 things to know about Moldova and Transnistria – and why Russia’s war may spread beyond Ukraine to reach them soon,” you know the hive mind is being readied. Especially when the author neglects the broader context — such as Ukraine’s quandary and the rival interests of Poland and Romania. [1]
Russian Central Military District deputy commander Rustam Minnekaev mentioned the need for a future ability to reach Transistria. But talk of a second front in Ukraine is coming from Western media — CNN reporting “How Transnistria, a Russian-backed region in Moldova, is getting pulled into the war in Ukraine.” [2]
The report mentions an attack on two radio towers on Apr 25 and 26 and neglects to say they broadcast in Russian. It implies that Russia staged the attack. In Aug 1939 the simulated attack on the Gleiwitz Radio Station was a provocation for the invasion of Poland — as we see so often, the minds of censors and propagandists, like military and politicians, reflect habit not creativity.
War of the airwaves
The phrase “false flag,” until recently the fare of alt media chatter, is now bandied about on the state corporatist media. The U.S. government admits to using information that “isn’t rock solid” so long as it hurts Russia. The “left deviationists,” as Stalin called his opponents, are now all over the place.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which rivals the FBI for the title of America’s Gestapo — look up the similarities — has just created a Ministry of Truth, or “Disinformation Governance Board.” [3]
Typically, in our post-modern world sensitive to the meta-narrative, the fist is clothed in the garb of Joker. The “disinformation tsarina” is no exception, brushed with a touch of the farcical. Nina Jankowicz is a former fitness trainer with aspirations to showbiz.... who somehow became a “disinformation fellow” at the Wilson Center.
She recalls the ragged-trousered bughalter of an underwear company, “Henry” Elliot Higgins who set up Bellingcat, the “digital Sherlocks” who scry the back pages of the Internet to come up with propaganda for paymaster the Atlantic Council, the financial end of NATO.
This is no arbitrary barb. There is a method in this madness. Psychological profiling — AI may let controllers know you better than you know yourself, as Yuval Harari, observes — is older than the Rhodes Scholarship, and the bar has fallen since 1902.

“Clownworld,” as the alt media calls it, partly exists because this is the profile of the modern Common Purpose or Senior Executive Service manager, and moreso their non-profit fronts in the think tank world: narcissistic, preferably a prince/princess complex or, better still, the ego of a showman or salesman. They hanker for a leading role, can internalize the script and stay in character. Totally controllable, they are very unlikely to develop ideas of their own.
Retired senator Ron Paul used a less-often quoted excerpt from Gen Smedley Butler’s famous philippic, “war is a racket.”
“A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small ‘inside’ group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many.” [4]
War on the ground
The inconsistencies in reporting grow by the day. If Russian troops are demoralized and running out of men and ammunition, as some in the press report, how and why would they open a new front? [5]
Until recently, the Western press has insisted that Ukraine was winning. Only now is it beginning to report the actual reality on the ground.
Politico (a pro-Ukraine, EU journal) carried a report from a Lt. Ivan Skuratovsky of Ukraine’s 25th Airborne Brigade that Russian forces “simply destroy everything with artillery, shelling day and night” and that if heavy weaponry and air support didn’t arrive within days, the would not survive. [6]
There are two wars in Ukraine: one in the media, one on the ground. The pressure to open a western front is precisely because Armed Forces of Ukraine is being resupplied from the west, and is struggling from lack of fuel and men to carry the battle to the east. The pressure for a new front is likely coming from outside forces.
It may begin “online” as a distraction. The danger with wars fought in the aether is that politicians and military commanders believe their own spectral creations, especially when governments assume the role of arbiters of truth and suppress contrary voices.

Military supply
Poland has sent at least 240 Soviet-era T-72 tanks to Ukraine, Polish officials say; the equivalent of two tank brigades.
Czechia has sent Ukraine several dozen similar tanks and Germany is upgrading about 50 Flakpanzer Gepard antiaircraft cannon to fit them.
In the U.S. Joe Biden’s administration is asking Congress to approve $33 billion for Ukraine — more than 50 per cent more than Ukraine asked for in 2013 when it sought to join the European Union.
General Douglas Macgregor (Ret’d) has said that by supplying Ukraine through Poland, NATO is baiting the Russians to create “a desert” rather than let any munitions through.
While the state corporatist media insists Russia is running out of munitions, it may in fact be the West that faces a supply problem.
The head of Raytheon told financial analysts that it won't be able to increase production of Stinger anti-aircraft missiles until 2023. The thousands of missiles sent to Ukraine have been drawn from reserves in the U.S. and Europe. CEO Greg Hayes said they are building a limited number of missiles in a factory in Arizona. That's it.
The situation is even worse, assuming you like bringing down jets and helictopters. The company hasn't actually made any Stingers for the U.S. Department of Defense in 18 years, Hayes told investors. Some components aren't available and the U.S. Army had wanted to run down stocks, anticipating a replacement missile. [7]
The war in Ukraine is consuming old equipment across Europe. Poland and Czechia have sent their Soviet-era tanks to Ukraine, presumably with the intent of replacing them. But how long will that take, especially with broken supply chains?
Incidentally, if China is targeting the Western consumer economy, it's not the only one. European Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni said the continent aims to reduce its dependence on Russian gas by 2027.
That's five years away. What are Europeans going to do in the meantime? Demolish the economy and 6uild 6ack 6etter? It would fit perfectly with Agenda 2030.
Russian gas stopped flowing to Poland and Bulgaria this week after they refused to pay in roubles. Germany dropped its earlier opposition to a joint EU embargo on Russian oil. This is all self-inflicted.
War planning
There are several reasons to fear that somebody wants a broader war.
Poland has denied claims by Russian intelligence on Apr 28 that it is considering retaking historic lands in western Ukraine, centered on Galicia. SVR, the Russian foreign intelligence service did not publish the claimed evidence.
Warsaw could be dragged into conflict against its will as NATO ramps up supply or through efforts to maintain the peace in a splintered Ukraine which would likely retain enough self-proclaimed fascists and nationalists to destabilize Poland itself. At the very least a Polish peacekeeping function would not be short term.
As noted here, Poland's deputy PM and defacto leader Jarosław Kaczyński might seek an agreement to take back Lviv in western Ukraine — which is historically Polish — in a peacekeeping role, with Russia's agreement. [8]
This scenario was even captured in a screenshot from Poland's national public broadcaster, TVR1.
Kaczyński led a delegation by train, including the prime ministers of Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovenia, to meet president Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Kyiv. Whether the Mar 15 meeting was just a show of solidarity or had greater substance we don’t know.

We could yet see a reordering of European territories on a scale not witnessed since the Versailles Treaty of 1919 or the conference of 1945 which symbolically took place in Yalta, Crimea.
The impetus behind the war in Ukraine has more grave underpinnings than even accession or annexation.
There remain competing visions: Britain and America as the military-corporate raiders of the world (regardless of which one is dominant in your opinion); or a European unitary federal supra-national state.
As the linguist and historian Terry Boardman relates (and thank you to Brendan O’Connell and his contributors for re-discovering this gem of a lecture) Europe could choose a different role, and play the role of interlocutor in a confedeation with the Americas and Asia. [9]
National and legal sovereignty, and cultural identity for the peoples of Europe, quoting from Boardman, but with an international dimension could be achieved only by separating culture, politics and economy as a new model for government.
This is the opposite of The Great Reset, BBB or the Green New Deal which seek to combine corporation and state.
The role of WW1 was to rally and bond the Anglo Saxon peoples. Russia was always the enemy neccessary to the creation of “an authoritative, all-powerful world government.” Without a common enemy it would not be possible to corral the people into a “world super government,” to quote Winston Churchill (the quote is hidden behind the Jstor firewall that Aaron Swartz died trying to demolish, but you can find it in Google and Boardman’s video at 19 minutes.)
The model was the first centralized nation, the power embodied in the U.S. federal state power as the dominion of a privately owned central bank, the Federal Reserve. The control and ownership this gave capital over the productive assets of the nation would become the inspiration for The Great Reset of today, and the impudent transition from the expression of value as creativity (the product of free labour) to energy consumed by a slave (the Green dogma).
The transition is clearly illustrated in the move from capital as owner of the means of production, to the monopoly, syndicate or cartel ownership of resources, both mineral and human.
See Moneycircus, Dec 4, 2021 — Bankers Prance To War And Slavery: 'If there must be trouble, let it be in my day'
The latter entails unavoidably the diminution and suppression of art, culture and individual effort, for nothing is allowed to stand in rivalry to, or above, the great dispenser: the one who apportions your allowance of energy, regardless of the land you own, in the name of the Comirnaty. Light an unlicensed fire, plant an unlicensed seed and the DHS, or FEMA, or the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, or FBI, or the Joint Biosecurity Centre, or whichever tsarina has been given power to pry — will be down on you like a ton of bricks.
It is in order to justify that concentration of power that you must fear Russia.
In practice the people with most to fear are not the public but commercial interests who think they would be defeated if the creativity and organization of Germany were to ally with the energy and mineral resources of Russia. Or, for the same reason, if Russia combined with the ingenuity of Japan.
World War One and Two were fought “to keep Germany down and Russia out.” If we are on the brink of Three, it is probably for the same purpose.
