Whodunit and why — the mass formation of the popular mind

A classic eugenicist image, aimed at the masses, says more than a thousand words. Feindbilt, or image of the enemy, was central to 20th century propaganda — the format was used in the USSR, Britain, the USA and Nazi Germany.

Perhaps the most famous example was Britain’s portrayal of the troops of the Kaiser — the King’s closest relative — bayoneting babies, which was a lie in 1914 repeated in the great lie of 1990 when Iraqi troops were falsely portrayed as tossing babies out of incubators.

The channeling of reporting into emotion was the origin of the BBC’s “journalism of attachment” and today’s accusation by the military that any contrary account is not mere mis- but dis- information.

This was the most grave of Stalin’s accusations as he eliminated not just rivals but anyone who dared to exist outside him. Stalin’s financiers were the same who had financed Rodin’s thinker or Descartes’ “I think therefore I am.”

The essence of power is arbitrary, depending on how you apply it.

Dirty pictures

Key was the Feindbild enemy image, which used a simple, often two-tone etch to create a black and white view of the world. Visually and mentally this is a duality, based on negative ideas, intended to provoke an emotional response.

One could see evil in this image, in contrast with the positive way we see ourselves or our friends. By using these images in sequence in the press, the demonizing is compounded. The images are accompanied by language from politicians that plays on human psychology to fear the unknown and to fall into a posture of defence.

The 1930s in Germany caused free-floating anxiety and lack of sense — until the people fixated on leaders — even if they lied. All else, politically, was "other".

The mass media tells you it’s a conspiracy theory but the Great Reset is here. It is already being implemented. Concentrated financial power has shut down that part of the economy it doesn’t want; along with its collective mind and its workers.

The Reset advances because it resonates with popular experience: billions of people own nothing. Telling them they will own nothing is not news. You’re not happy yet, but that can be arranged.

Never let a crisis go to waste: Covid fits that bill, too. Legislatures were sidelined or suspended, public health services were emptied, police defunded, prisons emptied, social and leisure facilities closed (public and privately-owned) and air travel curtailed. In some places travel by foot was restricted to 15 km (10 miles) from home.

No measures slowed the disease but they did centralize control of the economy, social behaviour and politics. In Switzerland officials drafted scripts — the World Economic Forum or corporate jab lobby Gavi — sited next to the World Health Organization. [1]
